At fred’s, we pay tribute to the people who have given so much to the African-American community. Their efforts have helped shape our country into what it is today. In addition, every week in February, we at fred’s will be honoring and featuring our team members who work so hard to make a difference in their communities. They are our Community Champions.

Titus Crockett Marked Tree, AK

Titus does it all. As a fred’s store manager, he is loyal to his staff and customers. Outside of work, he’s an assistant youth pastor and Sunday school teacher at Living Waters Ministry. He’s the founder of S.A.L.T. (Save A Life Today) Outreach Ministry, which mentors kids to do good in their lives. He works with Focus, Inc. — a nonprofit that empowers individuals with disabilities. Before all this, Titus served our country in the U.S. Army. The morals of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and courage are evident in Titus’ life every day.

Chris Edmond Dexter, GA

Chris works in the IT department at fred’s. He has taken the skills he uses every day and implements them in his life outside of work. Chris is a member of the Media Ministry at Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church. There, he produces CDs, DVDs and PowerPoint presentations for Sunday services. He also develops media to be delivered to individuals who are unable to come to service, so that they don’t miss out on the message preached each week by the pastor.

Antonio Lanier Dublin, GA

Antonio is a forklift operator at fred’s. When he’s not working, Antonio loves to work with children in the community. He shares the gospel and inspires kids, encouraging them to be all they can be. His enthusiasm connects with children of every age, and they learn so much from him.

Joshua Jackson Dublin, GA

An unloader at fred’s, Joshua is very involved with his church, Montford Shore Baptist. He interacts with the children in his church and in other churches throughout the community. He works to create a positive impact on their lives, inspiring and motivating them through the gospel.

Sherrie Johnson Olive Branch, MS

Sherrie is a risk analyst at fred’s, but that certainly does not define her. In her time away from work, Sherrie commits herself to her community. For the past three and a half years, Sherrie has served on the finance committee, in the outreach ministry, on the praise team, and in pastor support in her church, The Rock Church. But her passion is in the Mackenziya Bonds Foundation, which she founded. The Foundation helps educate the public about Schizencephaly, a rare congenital brain abnormality, and helps raise funds for treatment for Mackenziya Bonds, the daughter of a close friend.

Johnerson Ueal Memphis, TN

When not working as a programmer analyst at fred’s, Johnerson commits his time to many organizations in the community. He has given his time to Toys for Tots, is a MIFA volunteer, served on Men on Patrol through ATOP Church, volunteers at Kirby High and Middle schools, and is a Sunday school teacher. In addition to all that, he has been a superintendant at New Hickory Hill Baptist Church for the past 25 years.
