Every February, fred’s Pharmacy supports the American Heart Association by raising awareness and showing support during American Heart Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death of men and women in the country, claiming 600,000 lives every year.
fred’s Pharmacy has created a multi-tiered program to help our customers realize the importance of heart health, and to prevent heart disease. The program has five initiatives that will help increase awareness and fund research to fight heart disease:
Provide free blood pressure screenings at fred’s Pharmacy
Donate $1 for every blood pressure screening in the month of February
Give out free blood pressure scorecards to customers to track their blood pressure results for the entire year.
Award a $25 fred’s gift card to patients who check and track their blood pressure monthly for a year.
Give out a free bottle of aspirin during the first two weeks of February.
Every year, it’s our goal to reach $100,000 for the American Heart Association through our $1 donation for every free blood pressure screening. Our customers can help by simply understanding their heart’s health through regular blood pressure screenings. Because the first step to prevent heart disease is personal awareness.
