American Red Cross – In 2004 Fred’s was honored by the American Red Cross for our relief efforts during a disastrous hurricane season that ravaged Florida and the Gulf Coast.

Salvation Army Angel Tree – Fred’s Employees adopt Salvation Army angels every Christmas in hopes of making a child’s Christmas dreams come true. On average our employees help 90 children & senior citizens annually through the Salvation Army Angel Tree.

Hope House – In 2007, children from Memphis-based Hope House had the opportunity, for the fourth year in a row, to trick-or-treat in the corporate office of Fred's. The mission of Hope House is to improve the quality of life of children and families who are infected or affected by HIV or AIDS and Fred's wanted to provide this special group of children, ranging in age from two to five, with a safe and fun Halloween activity.

Memphis Zoo – Fred’s supports the Memphis Zoo in many ways. When the Pandas came to the Memphis Zoo our employees had the opportunity to donate through employee payroll deductions. We also provide all of the candy for the annual Zoo Boo, behind scenes tours for the MIFA teens, Zoo Lights and Pharmacy Recruitment events. Also, many of our Fred’s trucks advertise the Memphis Zoo to show our support and help raise awareness of the world-class Memphis Zoo.
